DENIM SHENIM is a visionary upcycling startup catered towards lowering the waste production of the RMG industry in Bangladesh, initially focusing on denim.
One of the main initiatives of DENIM SHENIM centers around the prospect of connecting contemporary Bangladeshi artists and designers with the international fashion world, all whilst familiarizing them with sustainable design approaches in order to lower our carbon footprint. We aim to inspire the future generation of artists and designers to create using existing materials and rethink our extractive design practices. Additionally, by reducing water consumption and the extraction of virgin materials, we collectively strive toward a more sustainable future.
Furthermore, we aspire to create a more substantial impact by collaborating with RMG factory owners in Bangladesh to implement efficient manufacturing systems in their factories to prevent and reduce waste altogether. Another goal is to inspire and encourage these stakeholders to utilize their own waste products to replace virgin raw materials in mass production, thereby contributing to a larger goal of sustainability and waste reduction in the country.
Hopefully this initiative will catch on not just locally but internationally, so we, the new generation of creative individuals, will design kinder.
